It’s cool outside! This Genmaicha green tea blend is super wintry with very special distinguishing ingredients such as star anise, mistletoe and a handful of candied pineapple cubes. A pinch of cinnamon and powdered manuka honey underline the herbaceous flavour of Genmaicha Green Tea. The soft, roasted notes in the foreground are perfectly complemented by the scent of cinnamon, the golden aromas of honey and the unique flavour of the Tonka bean.
A warm pleasure that will stay with you throughout the winter.
What is Manuka Honey?
Manuka is a shrub belonging to the Family Myrtaceae, Genus Leptospermum and species scoparium (L. scoparium). Native to New Zealand and south-eastern Australia, it is a very prolific bush. It has aromatic properties, essential oils are extracted and honey is produced. The chips are used for smoking meat and fish. Manuka leaves and the essential oil distilled from them are used in Maori folk medicine and in the contemporary pharmaceutical industry.
What is Tonka Bean?
The tonka bean has a unique, rich, vanilla flavour. It manages to stand out from the other spices and at the same time enhance them. This bean is made from the seeds of a huge tree that grows in the Amazon rainforest, an ingredient that confectioners and chefs alike can no longer do without.
