What is a Gong Dao Bei

The Gong Dao Bei is simply a pitcher for serving tea so that everyone receives an infusion of equal intensity (that is why it is called a cup of equity). If it were to be served directly from a teapot or gaiwan, the first cup would have a weaker infusion than the last. Gong Dao Bei allows the tea from the teapot or gaiwan to be strained into this pitcher to equalize the infusion so that everyone can taste the same tea.
