Black Sesame and Red Bean Mochi Piatti is a mochi filled with red bean paste and topped with black sesame seeds. A delicacy from Japan, kirimochi (or mochi) are glutinous rice cakes or sweet rice. It is an established food in Japanese cuisine and culture and is often served to celebrate the New Year.
How to cook them
With the toaster: Insert the mochi and let it cook for one minute.
With hot plate: heat it for about 6 minutes, turning it occasionally.
In a frying pan: apply oil to the cooking surface and heat the mochi for about 5~6 minutes on low or medium heat. Turn the mochi occasionally to prevent it from burning.
