The porcelain in this colander is from Dehua, the famous place of origin of porcelain and pottery, and an important porcelain export base in China, located in Quanzhou City, Fujian Province, China. With more than a millennium of history, Dehua porcelain is characterized by its elegant design, excellent craftsmanship, hard texture and watery white appearance. On May 30, 2015, after two consecutive days of evaluation, experts from the World Crafts Council unanimously approved awarding Dehua the title of World Capital of Ceramics.
