Tasting – Sight and smell
The puer sheng Feng Huang Wo tea cake has very long and fragrant leaves, of brown, green and bronze tones and is rich in golden buds. Once infused, they release sweet and fruity aromas of pear, beeswax, honey and incense. The liquor, of a deep amber gold, reveals to the palate a medium and soft body, surprisingly devoid of astringency.
Tasting Notes
GONG FU CHA
The first infusion of puer sheng Feng Huang Wo tea gives a sweet and delicate liquor: we find the hints of beeswax already perceptible to the nose and wildflower honey. With the second infusion emerge fruity notes of caramelized pear and light hints of incense, which tends to disappear almost with the third infusion, remaining barely perceptible and evolving into delicate hints of resin. The sweet and fruity notes also return, which envelop the palate and remain pleasantly in persistence.
WESTERN
With the first sip of puer sheng Feng Huang Wo tea, the sweet and fruity notes characteristic of this tea emerge, reminiscent of pear nectar and quince jam. After this initial sweetness, come the hints of incense and a light and pleasant flavor, followed again by sweet notes of honey and beeswax. The sugary and fruity notes remain in persistence, enveloping the palate for a long time even after the last sip.

How to prepare
We strongly recommend infusing Feng Huang Wo sheng puer tea in the traditional Chinese method (gong fu cha) to enjoy these leaves at its best. Following this preparation, 5 grams of leaves (about 4 teaspoons) can be used in a gaiwan of about 150 ml to make several infusions with different tastes. After a quick rinsing of the leaves in water at 90 ° C you can proceed to a first infusion of 20 seconds and, then, keeping the water at the same temperature, you can proceed by increasing each time the time of 5 seconds compared to the previous infusion (20 – 25 – 30 …).
This tea has a longevity of about 8 infusions.
For a classic preparation in the Western style, we recommend 2.5 grams of leaves (just under 2 teaspoons) in a 200-mL cup with water at 90°C for an infusion time of 2 1/2 minutes.
The tea can be filtered for greater ease at the moment of tasting, and also the infusion times indicated above are intended to be purely indicative, so you can also adjust according to your personal taste.
It is recommended to store Feng Huang Wo sheng puer tea in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
