Steel Bombilla for Mate

Our Bombilla for Mate is a necessary accessory for all lovers of Brazilian Mate: this kind of steel “straw,” used exclusively for drinking mate, adapts to the shape of the vessel and filters the herb (in leaves or chopped) with each sip, allowing the liquid to flow smoothly through the 15-20 centimeter tube to the mouth. The bombilla consists of three parts:

• the tip, which is in contact with the lips and has an inclined shape
• the neck, the tube through which the liquid passes, can have different shapes
• the filter, at the base, prevents the passage of the yerba mate leaves

How to clean

In addition to washing it after each use, it should be thoroughly washed once a month by soaking it in boiling water for 30 minutes (perhaps adding baking soda). Afterwards, it should be cleaned inside with a fine brush to remove yerba mate residue.
