Darjeeling Jungpana First Flush Red (Black) Tea is classified as FTGFOP 1(Finest Tippy Golden Flowery Orange Pekoe), a classification given only to the most valuable teas, composed of whole leaves and a generous amount of tips. The tea leaf is green and has a pleasant floral aroma. The liquor has a soft golden color, a sweet aftertaste, and a fresh aroma.This tea comes from the Kurseong Valley in Darjeeling district.

Tasting – Sight and smell

Jungpana First Flush black tea FTGFOP1 has whole, small, gently rolled leaves. They come in a beautiful melange of colors: light and military green, several shades of brown, and a few silvery white gems. The infused leaves give off aromas of green wood, floral notes of geranium and a hint of lemongrass, with an almost balsamic feel to the nose. The liquor in the cup is golden, transparent and bright.

Tasting Notes

WESTERN

The opening, with fresh notes between vegetable and young wood, brings to mind the thick of a mountain forest in summer. Floral hints of hawthorn and citrusy, balsamic notes reminiscent of lemongrass and verbena are then perceived. The body of this Jungpana First Flush is light and smooth on the palate, with mild astringency and barely perceptible bitterness. The persistence is floral and offers a good sensation of freshness on the palate.

How to prepare

For a classic Western-style preparation of this tea, we recommend 2.5 grams of leaves (about 1 teaspoon) in a 200-mL cup with water at 85°C for a brewing time of 2 1/2 minutes.
