History of Ru Porcelain

Ru porcelain is suitable for unfermented and lightly fermented teas, such as green tea and high mountain Oolong tea. Ru Kiln was the main one of the five great kilns of the Song Dynasty. Ru porcelain is famous for the fineness and purity of its clay, the fine workmanship in its shapes and the pure blue color of its glaze.

Ru porcelain was once reserved for the imperial court and, according to a contemporary source, only those that were rejected were destined for a wider market.
