Design inspired by the Orient
Lin’s Ceramics Studio collaborated with the Dutch design team PeLiDesign to develop new tea sets through the fusion of Western lifestyle and Eastern aesthetics. The Western designer was inspired by the romantic writings of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s West-östlicher Divan. He imagined himself as a traveling artist following the footsteps of the masters, hoping to discover new magnificent realms through Eastern inspiration. The Divan tea set is an innovative product driven by the wave of globalization. It is also an effort by Lin’s Ceramics Studio to promote the trend of tea arts in the West and a milestone to embark on a new journey on the Silk Road. This teapot responds to the Western custom of making tea in a large teapot and blends with the elegant Chinese culture of enjoying tea in small teacups. Sophisticated European lines emanate from a rich and rounded Eastern aesthetic.
Choosing the perfect material for every tea
Porcelain, a fast heat conductor, prevents the delicate tea leaves from overcooking. It is best suited for brewing lightly fermented or unfermented teas, such as green tea, Lungjing, Pouchong, and Taiwan High Mountain Tea.
