Yunnan China is a province in southern China bordering Vietnam, Laos and Myanmar. This is the botanical homeland of the tea plant, it is here that the unique straight-stemmed form of the bush is found. The wild tea tree here can reach an age of more than 2500 years and a height of several tens of meters.

Yunnan produces both green and red teas, but aged Pu-erh teas are best known. They are harvested, dried in the sun, then steamed and pressed into different shapes. They are divided into Puer Shu (fully fermented, having a brown-red color of the leaves) and Puer Sheng (having a green color of the leaves). Only tea harvested in Yunnan Province is considered real Pu-erh. Our site presents a large assortment of these teas.

The group, called black tea in the Chinese professional environment, is described in the sources of the Eastern Han Dynasty, i.e. has existed for at least 1700 years. However, Europeans are only now discovering the amazing properties of Pu-erh tea from Yunnan.

In China, tea that has been aged for more than 15 years is a rarity, often given as artificially aged tea.
