Be transported by the enchantment of an ancient forest, where time flows slowly and tea leaves grow free under the shady embrace of the undergrowth. Puer Sheng Huangpian Tea 2022 encapsulates the essence of Mount Lunan: a cake of ripe, golden, shiny leaves that bloom in the heat of the teapot, revealing a universe of scents and flavors. Huángpiàn 黄片, literally “yellow leaf,” owes its name to the golden hues that characterize this unique cake. Made from the third and fourth leaves of our ancient tea trees, this selection celebrates the maturity and richness of a plant nourished by centuries of history. The springy, vigorous leaves reflect the vitality of the forest, with shades ranging from soft green to bright yellow to the brown and red of the most mature leaves.
A surprising sugary sweetness
The first thing that strikes one is the delicate but distinct sweetness, accompanied by an intense apricot scent that evokes the warmth of summer. This sweetness, never intrusive, is enriched by a nuance of light saltiness, an intriguing note that adds depth to the aromatic bouquet.Golden leaves of thousand-year-old trees
A unique sensory experience
Unlike early harvests, Huangpian 2022 offers a unique smoothness on the palate. The classic astringency of raw Puer tea is delicate and enveloping here, making each sip a refined pleasure. The aftertaste releases a fruity aroma with elegant vanilla notes, while the wet leaves release all their fragrance and tell the story of the forest from which they came.
A tea to be admired and enjoyed
The visual beauty of this cake is matched only by its flavor. Over time, the color of the leaves evolves, transforming from light golden hues to deeper browns and reds, with a delicate silvery shimmer signaling the presence of rare buds. Perfect for tea lovers seeking complexity, sweetness, and a deep connection to nature, Puer Sheng Huangpian 2022 Tea is an invitation to discover a world of nuances and sensations.

How to prepare
We highly recommend infusing this tea in the traditional Chinese method (gong fu cha) to best enjoy these leaves. Following this preparation, 5 grams of leaves can be used in a gaiwan of about 150 ml to make several infusions with different tastes. After a quick rinse of the leaves in water at 100°C, an initial infusion of 20 seconds can be made, and after that, keeping the water at the same temperature, the time can be increased each time by 5 seconds from the previous infusion (25-30 …).
These leaves could be steep about 9 times.
For a classic preparation according to the Western style, we recommend 3 grams of leaves in a 200-mL cup with water at 100°C for an infusion time of 2-3 minutes.
The tea can be filtered for greater ease at the moment of tasting, and also the infusion times indicated above are intended to be purely indicative, so you can also adjust according to your personal taste.
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
